Le single NiGHTOPIA est la 2ème chanson du projet A Fan Letter To Freedom.
Elle est inspirée par la série NiGHTS de SEGA, et plus particulièrement par le deuxième opus : NiGHTS Journey of Dreams.
NiGHTOPIA se place du point de vue du personnage principal de la série, le nightmaren / jester androgyne NiGHTS.
Pour AkuMatoo, NiGHTS est une véritable « incarnation » de la Liberté, s’étant affranchi de son rôle imposé afin de poursuivre ses propres désirs.
Il explore également le concept de l’identité, tout en se plaçant dans le contexte du jeu.
